ABOUT ME
My professional career is centered around a singular question: What does effective communication look like?
The answer to that question: It depends.
There are millions of organizations putting content out into the world—but most of the content falls flat. Why?
Because it’s developed without strategic thought.
Growing up, I had two unshakeable hobbies: reading and spending time outdoors. Both prompted endless hours of learning, observing, and understanding. This taught me that effective communication can look very different depending upon who you are and with whom you’re communicating: An author conveys information to their readers much differently than a bird does to a squirrel.
Through my education and professional experience, I’ve cultivated the knowledge instilled in me from my childhood hobbies. In college, studying environmental science, I observed the natural world, collecting and synthesizing data and translating it into something meaningful. As a master’s student studying communication, I built upon this knowledge, refining my writing and laying a foundation for my career.
Collectively, these experiences form the basis of my approach to content strategy and digital communication. Writing is an art, but strategy is the science that elicits meaning. When a brand understands who they are speaking to, creates content that resonates with that audience, and inspires people to take action...that’s success. That’s effective communication.
